WELCOME TO TABERNACLE OF PRAISE (or as we affectionately say- TOP). We are an all ages, family friendly church. Come expecting to be greeted at the door by a team of friendly volunteers who consider TOP to be both home and family. We are handicap accessible and there are no stairs to navigate.
OUR WORSHIP SERVICE begins promptly at 10am every Sunday and is designed to bring you and your entire family closer to God. We have a contemporary style of music, led by a team of practiced and anointed musicians & singers. Throughout the congregation, you can expect that there will be various physical expressions of our freedom to worship Jesus, such as the raising of our hands, dancing, clapping, shouting, etc., as well as the sharing of spiritual gifts. If you have any questions about something you observe, please don’t hesitate to talk with one of our pastors or elders at the conclusion of service or e-mail us at moc.e1529926628nilts1529926628ercpo1529926628t@eci1529926628ffo1529926628.
CHILDREN’S DEPARTMENT – At TOP, we love children and believe they are truly a gift from God. If you have children, they can remain with you after the worship service or they can go to one of our age appropriate classes. You will be encouraged to sign them up for class as you enter into the church. We have a nursery to accommodate infants through 4 years old, a class for our 5-6 year olds, Kingdom Castle for the 7-8 year olds, Crossroads for our 9-12 year olds and T.H.U.G. LIFE (True Heroes Under God) youth group for our teens.
Your children will remain with you throughout the worship service (unless of course they opt to join the other youth who love to worship God, together, at the front of the sanctuary.)
Our classes are not child drop offs or baby sitting posts. They are designed so that our kids and grandkids learn about God, practical applications of the principles Jesus taught, and to help them grow and mature to become awesome young men & women of God. Oh, and they have fun, too. Lots of it! Whether it’s a little one learning about creation as they play outside on our beautiful 24 acre property, a child training to be a “knight in armor”, or a youth group having real conversations about today’s life issues, while making plans for a lock-in event, we offer something for everybody.
SECURITY. As our Children’s Department continues to grow, our vigilance for the security of the children grows with us. As such we have strict protocols regarding the department such as: no child being left alone with any volunteer or staff member, FBI & Ohio BCI criminal background checks for all volunteers, and matching ID cards for parents and young children.
TITHES & OFFERINGS are an extension of worship. As with all families, we have a need for all family members to pitch in financially. There will be an opportunity given so that those who call TOP home can help to support the continued work of our ministry. This is not only a practical need, but it is a command from God. We are open about all of our financial dealings and invite you to attend our monthly trustee meetings as we discuss the finances and all other business dealings of the church.
WE OVERCOME by the word of our testimony. Oftentimes there is an opportunity for a few people to briefly share with the congregation about the goodness of God as evidenced through something specific He has done for you or that you are believing for Him to do. Maybe you recently landed a new or better job, perhaps He has given you the strength to face a hard situation, or maybe you have recently received salvation. In any case, we encourage you to share His goodness with us as a means to help others who may be struggling.
PREACHING SERVICE. Our preaching service is typically conducted by our lead Pastor, Joshua Cole. Jesus commanded us to go into the world and preach the gospel, to make disciples of men, and to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. You will hear a straight forward approach to the gospel with the sole purpose of causing us to look inside ourselves, find an area to change or to grow in, and then practical steps for moving forward in the plan that God has called us to. Every message delivered from the pulpit is delivered from the stand point of truth, in love, with the hope that people will be saved and their lives transformed for the better.
PRAYER & ALTAR CALLS. At the conclusion of the preaching service or during worship services, you may hear a call to prayer or the phrase “altar call”. This is an opportunity for you to come forward and kneel at the altar to tell God what is in your heart or to have one of our elders or pastors to pray for you. If you don’t feel led to come forward we ask that the congregation maintain reverence and pray for those who have expressed needs.
We believe in what we call the “moving of the Holy Spirit” and it is possible that you may witness things such as people “falling out in the Spirit”, people speaking in a different language that we call “tongues” or someone providing a word of prophecy. If you have any questions about something you observe, please don’t hesitate to talk with one of our pastors or elders at the conclusion of service or e-mail us at moc.e1529926628nilts1529926628ercpo1529926628t@eci1529926628ffo1529926628.
CONNECTION CAFE. Come early and join us for a homemade muffin and coffee or tea. Although service starts at 10, our cafe opens up around 7:45. We temporarily close from 8:30-9:15 for our Time with Abba (Bible study and reflection). As the name implies, it is our hope that you will make connections here and allow us to get to know you. We have fellowship dinners the 4th Sunday of each month and our families bring food to share with one another. It is an awesome time for us to share life together. Please join us for fellowship dinner, (even if you didn’t bring any food.)
