What to Expect

WELCOME TO TABERNACLE OF PRAISE (or as we affectionately say- TOP). We are an all ages, family friendly church. Come expecting to be greeted at the door by a team of friendly volunteers who consider TOP to be both home and family.  We are handicap accessible and there are no stairs to navigate.

OUR WORSHIP SERVICE begins promptly at 10am every Sunday and is designed to bring you and your entire family closer to God. We have a contemporary style of music and throughout the congregation, you can expect various physical expressions of worship such as raising hands, dancing, clapping, shouting, and spiritual gifts as the Holy Spirit gives. If you have any questions about something you observe, please don’t hesitate to talk with our pastor  at the conclusion of service or e-mail us at .

CHILDREN’S DEPARTMENT – At TOP, we love children and believe they are truly a gift from God.  If you have children, they can remain with you after the worship service or they can go to one of our age appropriate classes. You can sign them up for class at the Welcome Desk in the foyer.  We have a nursery to accommodate infants through 4 years old called Crown Jewels, a class for our 5-6 year olds called Kingdom Kids, Kingdom Castle for the 7-8 year olds, Crossroads for our 9-12 year olds, and T.H.U.G. LIFE (True Heroes Under God) youth group for our teens.

Your children will remain with you throughout the worship service.

Our classes are not child drop offs or baby sitting posts. They are designed so that our kids and grandkids learn about God, practical applications of the principles Jesus taught, and to help them grow and mature to become awesome young men & women of God. Oh, and they have fun, too. Lots of it!

SECURITY. As our Children’s Department continues to grow, our vigilance for the security of the children grows with us. As such we have strict protocols regarding the department such as: no child being left alone with any volunteer or staff member, FBI & Ohio BCI criminal background checks for all volunteers, and matching ID labels for parents and young children.

TITHES & OFFERINGS are an extension of worship.  There will be an opportunity in the service to give to the Lord to support the work of TOP. If you are visiting, please do not feel obligated to give.  If you give, let it be from a cheerful and willing heart.

PREACHING SERVICE. Our preaching service is typically conducted by our lead pastor, Joshua Cole. You will hear a straight forward approach to the gospel with the sole purpose of causing us to look inside ourselves, find an area to change or to grow in, and then practical steps for moving forward in the plan that God has called us to. Every message delivered from the pulpit is delivered from the stand point of truth, in love, with the hope that people will be saved and their lives transformed for the better.

PRAYER & ALTAR CALLS. At the conclusion of the preaching service or during worship services, you may hear a call to prayer. This is an opportunity for you to come forward and kneel at the altar to tell God what is in your heart or to have a prayer team member pray for you. If you don’t feel led to come forward, we ask that you maintain reverence and pray for those who have expressed needs.

CONNECTION CAFE. Come early and join us for a homemade muffin and coffee or tea. Although service starts at 10, our cafe opens up around 8:30 am.  The cafe temporarily closes from 9:00 to 9:30 for Time with Abba (a Bible study and reflection).  The word “Abba” means daddy, and as the name implies, it is our hope that this time in His word will connect you with your Heavenly Father.  The cafe starts back up again from 9:30 to 9:50.
