And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
That’s a common problem.
No room in our calendars. No room in our budgets.
No room in our minds. No room in our emotions.
We all seek room to bring forth what is inside.
Unfortunately, we are often turned away.
People come to you looking for shelter.
Do you have room for them?
Maybe you don’t have answers, or your time isn’t as valuable as another’s.
Remember, Christ was laid in a manger.
And that’s so much better than no room.
Even if all you have is a stable to welcome the weary traveler, welcome them in.
Provide the room that you have.
We offer shelter to the souls around us simply by listening.
Whenever you listen with the intent to understand and connect, you make space for another human to deliver what’s growing inside of them.
Who could you listen to today?
How could you listen without judgment or distraction?
Listening is an act of love.
Let us love one another.
