Psalm 21:1
The king rejoices in your strength, Lord.
How great is his joy in the victories you give!
You know what’s it’s like to rejoice in the Lord’s strength.
Your pulse quickens at the pounding of galloping horses.
Your attention is riveted by the crashing of ocean waves and the crackling of a fire.
You sigh as you bask in the heat of the sun.
You thrill at the pressing of the wind.
Did you know that these feelings of delight, awe, and comfort can come when God helps you succeed?
God longs to enchant you with His strength.
He works to impress you with His power to save you from destruction, lack, and woe.
Why? Because He’s delighted by you.
Your joy re-joys God.
God’s a sucker for joy.
Are you?
How could you pause today to rejoice in the Lord’s strength?
What has the Lord done for you that makes you happy?

Cancer patients are often heard to say, enjoy each day and rejoice in it. Well, as a Cancer patient I have come to understand rejoicing in things and situations that in the past I paid little attention to.
My late wife and I loved dogs, especially Westies. We had that breed for nearly 30 years and four of this subborn, unique, loving pets. The last of these special Westies, is Madi. She is the reason I get out of bed every morning. Her eyes are the kindest eyes ever, with the exception of my wife’s. The joy I felt looking in my wife’s eyes and my Madi’s eyes can only be described as our Lords way to make me happy. He has been successfully. 🙂
Ned, I’m so glad to hear from you. I’m sorry to hear about Donna’s passing! She was a warm and kind woman. God definitely blessed you to give you so many years with her. I’m happy to hear that Madi is doing well. Thank you for sharing and encouraging all of us to appreciate each day and our loved ones.
